Campanet
The community Campanet located in the north of Mallorca. The northern area is mountainous in the center is followed by a hilly landscape. In the mountains there are many wells (fountains), what is perhaps the most characteristic for the community.
Until 1940, people lived off the land. In 1945 the footwear industry recorded a spectacular growth: Today, the village lives mainly from tourism services of Alcudia. The population in the summer lead an active social life that takes place in the village square.
In the surrounding Berg is an artesian spring "Ses Fonts Ufanes" which gushes abundantly after rains. They
often dry up for many years, and is an attraction of tourists to rain,
waiting for the water that gushes from the earth at once. The second attraction is the ornate no-frills natural limestone cave.
History
Campanet formed together with Búger a community. Near the caves is the original church. Today San Miguel is the parish church. Time and again there were several sponsors of the church, Campanet was connected again and again in other larger communities. After years of conflict, the parish was definitely middle of the 18th Century independently.
